Following college and 4
years of dental school, oral and maxillofacial surgery requires
at least 4 years of additional training in hospital-based
medicine, surgery and anesthesia delivery.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is a specialty involving
diagnosis, treatment and surgery of diseases, defects,
injuries and deformities involving the mouth and facial
region, including facial cosmetic surgery.
